Lawyers who are working internationally and who require a certificate to show their language skills in legal English.
Course target:
An example of a course objective might be:
To be able to pass the University of Cambridge exam: ILEC – International Legal English Certificate at levels B2, C1 or C1 with merit.
Concrete objectives for the training are drawn up after an initial proficiency test.
Content:
The course content can include:
- Discussion, debate and conversation training for the areas in the syllabus.
- Summary of texts from prepared material
- Communication of a particular viewpoint
- Accuracy in communicating a viewpoint
- Review of fictional cases
- Vocabulary training
- Oral presentations
- Written formulation
- Communication in writing of legal documents and viewpoints
- Training in the use of terminology and of special terms and expressions in connection with certain legal areas
Topics:
The selection of texts is based on the syllabus drawn up by the University of Cambridge. All the subject areas within legal language mentioned in the syllabus are reviewed.
Training:
The number, frequency and time of lessons are arranged.
The training takes place in stages of 48 lessons.
